Commodity Polymer Processing
Feed Screw Barrel Manufacturing
Commodity plastics or Commodity polymers are plastics produced in high volumes for applications where exceptional material properties are not needed (such as packaging, food containers, and household products). In contrast to engineering plastics, commodity plastics tend to be inexpensive to produce and exhibit relatively weak mechanical properties.
We at Raj Engineering Works make feed screw barrel for the following types of commodity plastics material:
Polyethylene:
LDPE, LLDPE, MDPE, HDPE, HMPDE, UHMPDE, EVA
Polypropylene:
PP, PPR, C-PP
Polystyrene:
ABS, GPS, HIPS, ASA, SAN
Polyvinyl chloride:
RPVC, UPVC, CPVC
Poly(methyl methacrylate):
PMMA
Globally, the most widely used thermoplastic includes both Polypropylene and Polyethylene.
Due to wide usage of plastics, the definition of commodity plastics is changing.
At some places PET (Polyester) PETE is also counted as commodity polymers, because of its wide and large level use.
